Before you choose
Collect every size first. Write down each person’s size, from the baby to any grandparent joining in, and check that the brand covers them all in the same print before you commit. Ranges differ: some go from newborn to adult, others stop at twelve or fourteen years, and some adult sets are unisex, so women may want to size down. Choose fabric for a Dubai winter. December evenings here are mild and homes are often air-conditioned, so heavy flannel can feel too warm. Wash and try before the day. Allow time to wash everything once, then have each person sit, bend and lift their arms. A sleeve that rides up or a waistband that pinches is easier to sort out in November than on Christmas morning.
Think about the photograph.
