Christmas Eve box ideas from Dubai shops
What goes in a Christmas Eve box, and the UAE makers for the pyjamas, the book, the hot chocolate and the box itself.
A Christmas Eve box is a small box opened on the evening before Christmas, just before bed. It usually holds new pyjamas, a book for that night and something warm to drink. Its job is to slow the evening down, not to add another present to the pile.
This list gathers Christmas Eve box ideas from Dubai shops and UAE makers. Most are small, home-grown businesses: a bean-to-bar chocolate maker, a bookshop that has been part of Dubai since 1975, two candle makers, a bakery and a mum-founded baby label, with a Dubai babywear brand for the pyjamas. Some are fillers you put into a box of your own. Two are the container itself: a personalised gift box you build online, and a named velvet sack you can use again every year.
Start with the section below, which explains how to fill a box, then choose one thing for each part of the evening. You do not need a brand for every slot. A box you already own, a book from the shelf and a hot chocolate stirred at home is still a Christmas Eve box. Each brand links to the product itself, so you can check sizes, ages and options before you buy.
Before you choose
Follow the evening. A Christmas Eve box works when each thing in it has a moment: pyjamas after the bath, a warm drink, a story, then bed. Four slots are enough: something to wear, something to read, something warm and one small activity. Our Christmas countdown ideas treat the box as the last step in December’s routine.
Match it to the age. Christmas Eve box ideas for toddlers lean towards socks, a soft blanket and a short picture book. Hot chocolate and a biscuit-icing kit suit children who can sit still for twenty minutes. Check the ingredients on food, and the age guidance on anything with small parts.
Choose the box first. A shoebox wrapped in brown paper works. So does a named sack you bring out every year, or a gift box with the child’s name on it. Decide on the size before you buy fillers, or the fillers will decide for you.
Order personalised pieces early. Names on sacks, boxes and blankets are added to order, and small makers are busy before Christmas. Our guide on when to order Christmas gifts in Dubai sets out a sensible order of work.
Size the pyjamas up. If the pyjamas will be worn on Christmas morning as well, buy for the child you will have at the end of December, not the one you measured weeks earlier. Check the fit quietly beforehand, so the opening does not turn into a fitting.
Keep something for the grown-ups. A candle on the side or a box of biscuits turns it into an evening for the whole family, and gives you something to enjoy once the children are finally asleep.

Boxed Studio: a gift box with the child’s name in 3D
Boxed Studio is a Dubai gift studio that has made personal and custom gift boxes since 2019, each one hand-packed in Dubai. Its Custom Box Builder works in three steps: choose a box, add three to six items, then pick a card and write your own message. The acrylic name boxes, in white or black, carry the recipient’s name in 3D acrylic on the box itself.
The studio does not sell a box called a Christmas Eve box, so treat the builder as a build-your-own. Choose a name box, see which items in the gift step suit your child, and add your own pyjamas and book at home. Its range leans towards adult gifting, which makes it handy for a family box too. The Christmas Gift Boxes page is where to look for its ready-made range.

The UAE Christmas Store: a named velvet sack
The UAE Christmas Store is a small, home-grown business founded in 2016 that calls itself the UAE’s oldest Christmas brand. Its Red Velvet Santa Sack with Gold is handmade in red velvet and personalised with a name in the font you choose. Because it is made by hand from whichever roll of fabric is in, the shade can vary slightly from the photographs.
A sack can be the Christmas Eve box itself. Fill it after the children have gone to bed the night before, or in the afternoon while someone takes them out, then fold it away afterwards and bring it back next year. It suits families with more than one child, since each sack carries its own name and nobody argues about whose is whose.

Magrudy’s: the book for Christmas Eve
Magrudy’s has been trading in Dubai since 1975, and for many families it is simply where children’s books come from. For the reading slot, Is It Christmas Yet? by Jane Chapman is a picture book with the right question in its title for the night before. Night Before Christmas is the other obvious choice, a story written for exactly this evening.
Choose a book short enough to read in one sitting, because the point is to finish it before the lights go out. Check the format and age guidance on each listing, and if neither title suits, the shop has plenty of others to choose from. A book is the one filler that keeps working after the twenty-fifth: it can come back out every year on the same night.

Mirzam Chocolate Makers: a hot chocolate bomb
Mirzam makes bean-to-bar chocolate in its Dubai factory, entirely under one roof. The Ibn Batriqa Hot Chocolate Bomb is made with single-origin beans and marshmallow, and you just add hot milk. The product page tells its story as a voyage past chocolate mountains and spice deserts on board a chocolate dhow, which is about the right register for a child at bedtime.
It fills the warm-drink slot. Heat the milk yourself and let the children stir, then carry the mugs to the sofa for the story. It is labelled gluten free and is made with milk powder, so check the ingredients on the page if anyone in the family has an allergy. One per child is plenty.

The House of Cakes Dubai: a biscuit-decorating box
The House of Cakes Dubai was founded in 2006 by Irena and Kaloyan Dimitrovi, and says it was the first bakery in the UAE to offer bespoke cake designs. Its DIY Cookies box with icing comes with ready-to-bake dough in the flavour you choose, several coloured icings, piping bags, sprinkles and step-by-step instructions.
Bake in the afternoon, decorate after the bath and leave one on a plate by the tree. It suits children old enough to hold a piping bag, with a younger sibling on sprinkles. The listing does not mention a Christmas theme, so if you would like festive colours, ask the bakery when you order. Read its order and change policy before you settle on a date.

Innara: a candle-making kit for older children
Innara makes soy candles and home fragrance by hand in the UAE, in concrete containers. Its Candle Making Kit holds two concrete containers, soy wax, cotton wicks, fragrance oils in a choice of scents, a thermometer and a step-by-step guide, enough to make two candles. When a candle is finished, the container can become a small planter.
This is an activity for older children with an adult beside them, since it involves melted wax, and the page gives no age guidance. Make it on the evening and the candle is ready for another night. For the grown-ups’ part of the box, Joy Box No. 1 pairs a finished candle with a live succulent, each in its own concrete pot.

Scotchie’s Candles: a gingerbread candle for the grown-ups
Scotchie’s Candles hand-pours soy candles at home in Dubai and describes them as pet-safe. The Spice Ginger Bread candle sits in its Festive Candles collection and comes in two sizes. The brand also makes custom scents, if you would rather choose your own.
A candle is the filler for the adults, lit once the children are in bed and the presents are finally wrapped. Put it in the family box rather than a child’s, and keep it well away from small hands and the tree. If you have a dog or a cat that likes to sit by the fire, the pet-safe description is worth knowing about. The smaller size is enough for a box.

Eli&Eli: Christmas socks and a named blanket for babies
Eli&Eli is a Dubai label started by Amalie, who began sewing for her twins Elias and Elissa, and most of what it makes is for babies and toddlers. The Santa Christmas Socks 3D (Red) have a 3D Santa design and come in baby sizes up to twelve months. They are small enough to tuck into any box.
For a baby’s first Christmas Eve, the Personalised Cotton Baby Christmas Blanket (Snow White) is a soft white cotton knit with a choice of Christmas themes, and the baby’s name can be embroidered on it. Wrap the baby in it for the story, and keep it afterwards. A gift box can be added if you are giving it to someone else.
Gift 09 · Pyjamas
Atlas & Maya: bamboo pyjamas with a UAE Christmas print
Atlas & Maya is a babywear brand born and designed in Dubai. Its Bamboo Baby & Kids Christmas Pyjamas in UAE Xmas Express are a two-piece set in soft, stretchy bamboo viscose with no tags. The print has a Christmas train, a desert camel and a penguin on holiday from Ski Dubai, which tends to make the case for itself.
Sizes run from six months to ten years with a made-to-grow fit, and the brand suggests sizing up if your child is between sizes. A matching adult set is listed too, if the grown-ups would like to join in. Pyjamas are the heart of most Christmas Eve boxes, and our guide to matching Christmas pyjamas from Dubai brands has more sets to compare.
From the box to the photograph
Christmas Eve pyjamas usually get worn again the next morning, and that is the outfit our Christmas Morning room was made for: a dreamy children’s room, set up for play and cuddles. The Christmas Mini is fifteen minutes there, for children only. A family photographed in the pyjamas from the box, with the book on someone’s lap, has a picture that looks like their own Christmas rather than a studio’s. Our guide on what to wear for a Christmas Morning photoshoot covers colours and fit, and you can book your session online.
Let’s sum up
A Christmas Eve box needs four things at most: something to wear, something to read, something warm and one small activity. Choose the box or sack first, order anything with a name on it early, and buy pyjamas a size up. Add a candle or a treat for the grown-ups if you like. Then keep the evening simple: change, stir, read, bed.
Questions about Christmas Eve box ideas
Something to wear, something to read, something warm to drink and one small activity. New pyjamas, a picture book, a hot chocolate and a biscuit-decorating kit cover all four. Add a treat or a candle for the adults if you like, and check the age guidance on anything small.
Keep it soft and short: Christmas socks, a named blanket, a picture book you can finish in a few minutes and pyjamas a size up. Leave out small parts and anything breakable, and let an adult handle the hot drinks. A toddler will be just as pleased with the box itself.
We did not find many boxes sold under that name by UAE shops. The closest is Boxed Studio’s box builder, which makes a gift box with the child’s name in 3D acrylic. The UAE Christmas Store’s named velvet sack works as a reusable alternative. Fill either with fillers from local makers.
A hot chocolate bomb, a biscuit-decorating kit, Christmas socks, a book for that night and, for older children with an adult, a candle-making kit. Choose fillers the family will use that evening rather than small things that only take up space. One per slot is enough.
